Nagesh Goud

Born in 1965 Hyderabad, Nagesh completed his Bachelor degree in Fine Arts from College of Fine Arts, Jawaharlal Nehru Technology University, (JNTU) Hyderabad, in 1993. He also obtained a Distinction in his Maharashtra Art Certification (1987).

Goud’s works take inspiration from the great Indian epics – the Mahabharata and the Ramayana. With symbolism fused into his paintings, he works with strong hues and detailed imagery. One can see a strong influence of the Paithani and Kalamkari way of art in Nagesh’s paintings. What sets him apart from these two styles, is his clever use of modern art elements. Nagesh Goud has participated in numerous exhibitions and artists’ camps all over India and abroad. He was awarded by the Hyderabad Art Society in 2010, as well as JNTU in 1989-1991 and was “Highly Commended” by the Lalit Kala Samiti, Siddipet in 1987. His work is part of several important private collections.
